Soneva Jani is the latest resort of Soneva, a world leading sustainable luxury resort operator. Soneva Fushi is their flagship resort, the first ‘Robinson Crusoe’ style hideaway, opened in 1995 in the Baa Atoll, Maldives.
Located on the island of Medhufaru in a 5.6 kilometer lagoon in Noonu Atoll, Soneva Jani has uninterrupted ocean views in all directions. The lagoon is 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé International Airport and one hour by speedboat from Soneva Fushi.
Meaning ‘wisdom’ in Sanskrit, Soneva Jani comprises
51 over-water and three island residences, the largest and most luxurious villas in the Maldives, each designed for the ultimate privacy, space and breathtaking ocean views. The resort is set in a lagoon of crystal clear waters, with five islands surrounded by pure white beaches, covered in rich tropical vegetation. Four of the five islands will remain untouched so it will be, by far, the lowest density development in the Maldives. Our Water Villas are spaced across the expansive lagoon, offering privacy and extensive views over the Maldives turquoise waters. The Island Villas are part of our second phase and will be scattered along the beach and tucked into the lush greenery, providing the ultimate privacy.
Soneva Jani’s main guest facilities are located at the Clubhouse, the heart of the overwater villas. This dramatic three-storey height structure is home to the main Dining outlets, Observatory, Water sports and Dive Centre, Boutique & Gallery, Library and the Main Bar. Facilities on the island will include The Den accredited by Worldwide Kids , Soneva Soul wellness centre, Cinema Paradiso, Eco Centro, Organic gardens, Tennis courts, Water sports champa and Beach Club on a desert island in the lagoon.
